In 1898 our founder John Duff chose to open his new distillery on the site of the old Riach Farm. Ruggedly beautiful, the Benriach Distillery draws its water from the mineral-rich aquifer deep beneath the grounds.
Benriach is a hidden Speyside gem distilling in three distinct styles - classic unpeated, Highland peated and triple distilled - and crafting layers of diverse flavour with our eclectic range of cask types from around the world.

Join us as we take you on a guided visit through our distillery, where you will discover a world of flavour.
Uncover the whisky making process, bringing to life the multi layered flavours found in our range of Benriach Single Malts. Uncover our whisky heritage and eclectic cask maturation as the story of this hidden Speyside gem is told. Your visit will conclude with a tasting of 3 whiskies and includes the opportunity to create your own Benriach cocktail.

Barley to Barrels
Experience the whisky making process from barley to barrels.
Learn about our unique whisky making heritage and our use of an eclectic selection of casks from around the world in this in depth tour of our distillery and warehouse 13. Following your tour you will return to the visitor centre for a tutored tasting of five whiskies from the Benriach range.

Grape and Grain
Sherry, Port, Madeira, Marsala, a selection of some of the cask types we use to mature our whisky at Benriach.
Following a tour of the distillery, uncover the breadth of casks maturing inside Warehouse 13. Uncover years worth of eclectic cask use as you wander through our oldest warehouse exploring the wine casks used by our Master Blender, Rachel Barrie.
Your visit will conclude with an exploration of the flavours created from the different wine casks and a tasting of 5 limited releases and single cask bottlings, all to be savored with a food pairing.

Evening Experiences
Select Friday evenings throughout the year, Benriach open its doors for unique tasting experiences. Please see below for dates and details on each tasting.
9th February: Benriach Foundations
Join Stewart Buchanan, our Global Ambassador, as he takes you back to 2004. Stewart will share a story or two about the early days and restarting production at Benriach alongside a few archive drams from the past 20 years.

1st March: The 80’s
Our first celebration of a decade starts with the 1980’s. This tasting will include 5 single casks from the 80’s showcasing the best of Benriach. Check out other decades being held throughout the year.

5th April: Eclectic Casks
Explore the variety of casks used in maturing the Benriach range. This tasting will delve into the cask types and the spirits previously stored in them to discover the breadth of flavour in each dram of Benriach!

7th June: The 90’s
Continuing our celebration of the decades with this single cask tasting of 5 whiskies distilled in the 1990’s.

Step back in time as we raid the archives for this single cask tasting of casks filled in the 1970’s.

Join us as we deconstruct our core range of whiskies, highlighting each cask type that is used to make our Ten and Twelve Year Old Single Malts.
