In 1898 our founder John Duff chose to open his new distillery on the site of the old Riach Farm. Ruggedly beautiful, the Benriach Distillery draws its water from the mineral-rich aquifer deep beneath the grounds.
Benriach is a hidden Speyside gem distilling in three distinct styles - classic unpeated, Highland peated and triple distilled - and crafting layers of diverse flavour with our eclectic range of cask types from around the world.

Come to Speyside and explore the rugged beauty of our home, learning how we craft our whisky from barley to bottle. Finish with a whisky tasting and discover how our ingenious team collide, combine and intertwine multi-layered flavour combinations that you'll remember long after you leave us.
Festive opening hours - The Visitor Centre will be closed between 24th December 2025 and 11th January 2026. We wish all our guests a fantastic festive season and look forward to welcoming you again from 12th January 2026.

The Benriach Experience
Embark on an immersive journey with The Benriach Experience, a comprehensive tour that celebrates our rich heritage and creative future. Your journey begins with a walk-through of our silent distillery floor, where your host will guide you through the creation of our three unique spirit styles - classic, peated, and triple distilled.
We then take you to the heart of our distillery, the historic and atmospheric Warehouse 13. Here, you'll explore the artistry of cask maturation, learning how our eclectic selection of casks from around the world—from sherry to rum and wine—impart their profound influence on our whisky.
The journey of discovery continues with a tasting of four expressions, a perfect showcase of our diverse flavour profiles. To conclude, we invite you to shake things up, creating a signature cocktail designed to highlight the versatility of Benriach single malt.

Grape and Grain
Sauternes, Port, Sherry, Marsala Wine, a selection of some of the cask types we use to mature our whisky at Benriach.
Following a tour of the distillery, uncover the breadth of casks maturing inside Warehouse 13. Discover years worth of eclectic cask use as you are guided through our oldest warehouse, exploring the wine casks used by our Master Blender, Rachel Barrie.
Your visit will conclude with an exploration of the flavours created from the different wine casks and a tasting of 5 limited releases and single cask bottlings, all to be savoured with a food pairing

Take a deep dive into our iconic Warehouse 13. As you walk among the resting casks, your guide will share the rich stories and unconventional heritage behind Benriach, unveiling the decades of creativity that have shaped our spirit since its founding. You will be fully immersed in the sensory experience of the warehouse, learning how the atmosphere and environment have historically played a crucial role in our whisky's maturation.
The culmination of your visit is a truly special tasting of whiskies selected to showcase the diverse influence of our eclectic casks. The flight will include rare single cask releases spanning five decades dating back to the 1970s, offering a liquid journey through Benriach's rich history.
